It’s now four years since I left Campus, I know a lot have changed though it’s expected anywhere there is growth. This makes me feel a little bit old. I remember in my first year we could get ugali at four shillings and veges for eight shillings at jf Kennedy. The famous chips went for 20 shillings and B’s reflected the age of Lord Egerton. I would also mention late Mr Osango and before you calculate my years from 70’s I would open up that I cried after my first cat and since old folks don’t cry over cats, you will see me alittle bit young. Am thinking few years to come my very photo I took from gate will no longer be real in reflection of the campus gate we saw fit for a photo site.
I can’t cover up by giving stories but the truth is my mind is disturbed. A young person was killed via mob justice over robbery and it’s hard to wrap it up in my head with an ocean of unanswered questions. And my heart goes to young people, our brothers maybe our fathers, the much they need God for I bet Christ is the only answer left in our generation. Now that God has placed you in such a position, don’t tire telling people of the saving power of Jesus. Now that you are young, strong and vibrant, invest in missions, prayers, serving people, practicing justice, honesty and integrity, reading and guarding your heart with all deligence, striving to live at peace with everyone.
As much as all that is vital, forget not your academics, it’s what brought you to school. May you live in harmony, keeping off every kind of division for we are one body with many parts but all for the edification of the body. Despise not mini keshas every Friday, ministry fellowships and retreats. In that you grow in preparation of your tomorrow. Redeem times in all aspects for life is full of seasons and soon you will be out of school.
Now concerning relationship with opposite gender be wise and harmless. Let your boundaries be well defined where need be and let your yes be yes and no be no. In your decisions be sober, feelings come and go but a sober decision will keep you beyond the fire of the moment. God hears and answers prayers so lean on Him for wisdom and guidance. Don’t be deceived, keep off from every kind of fornication.
Lastly don’t forget your parents and guardians, they are proud of you and so keep in touch, living honorably. The truth is life is full of seasons and sooner or later you will be right at the center of responsibilities and leadership positions. What kind of a person do you want to be? Start preparing today.
The photo featured is the executive Commitee for 2012/2013. It’s satisfying meeting together each with a testimony and witnessing what God is doing in their lives.
After all that love God with all your mind, with all your heart and strength.
Cheers
