Open Letter to Dad

Dear Dad,
Am sure you already woke up to do what you like most. Am doing well too. Bytheway I didn’t tell when I saw you last that you still looked young. Dad you are one of my Heros and I celebrate that God has helped you to remain strong in keeping a family. I now understand abit of family matters and am sure you have overcome alot to come this far.

I wished to remind you some memorable moments of our life that impacted me greatly. Thanks Dad for always telling me mathematics is the only subject I could easily get 100% since primary. You will never understand the miracles those words did in my life. Infact Dad I as well realized there were still other subject I would get the same. God used you to be behind all the budges and certificate I got as the best student all the way to forth form just from mathematics as a subject.

Dad am not sure whether I told you that in class eight I was taught mathematics by the same teacher who taught you (The late Rev Muriuki). Thanks Dad I found you faithful and I had no options apart from being the best in mathematics. He used to tell me everyday “I taught your dad and he got an A in mathematics so you can’t get any less”. I really worked hard to keep the standard and so it lead to entry requirements in my career and so Glory be to God.

Dad you might not remember but I very well remember how you used to cook for us delicious dinner when mama went for sleepover to do weeding in our distant shambas. I cant forget the day you left us to keep our great grandma company and we snicked to our neighbour to play. You rarely gave us some strokes but we feared you most and this became your first reason to cane us. I still remember the way you told us to get canes and kneel down and my young mind was wondering whether we have to kneel down at home too.Papa now when given responsibility I can’t leave it carelessly. Thanks. I have alot to thank you for Dad.You are such a gift on earth
